Nowadays, the world has taken a stance towards awareness. Whether it be on equal rights towards gender, ethnicity, religion or political party, many countries representing the UNHRC attempt to raise awareness in hopes of unification and diplomacy. Mental health, however, is an issue that is less of a focused subject. It’s a subject that affects millions of people across the world, whether it be schizophrenia, an anxiety disorder, or depression.

According to WHO’s mental health day of last year, “Depression and anxiety disorders are common mental disorders that have an impact on our ability to work, and to work productively. Globally, more than 300 million people suffer from depression, the leading cause of disability. More than 260 million are living with anxiety disorders. Many of these people live with both (WHO).” Not only does it negatively affect our people, but also our economy. A WHO study estimates that $1 trillion of annual profits are lost due to lost productivity. In the United States, 41,000 people lose their lives due to mental illness, making it the 10th leading cause of death in America (NAMI 2018). By recognizing this issue on the international scale, the Republic of Angola sees this is as not a local issue, but a worldwide crisis. As the 39th leading country in suicide, we recognize that it is one of the most important issues that must be solved as soon as possible. Mental health is a topic that every country should be raising awareness for. In this case, awareness is merely not enough. Angola sees the topic of depression and suicide as serious as any humanitarian crisis and refugee displacement.

Due to the fact that the UN has already started recognizing mental health as a worldwide issue and sees it as a noncommunicable disease. Inside the wellbeing objective, two targets are straightforwardly identified with emotional wellness and substance manhandle. Local government treatment and specific use of the substance abuse and opioid substance centers are crucial in hopes of saving thousands of people. Psychological well-being and substance manhandle are ineffectively resourced at exhibit. Through the SDGs they are probably going to wind up some portion of nation improvement designs and of two-sided and multilateral advancement help. This could well imply that a great many individuals will at long last get truly necessary help.

Through the use of mental health centers that help with substance abuse and the safe installment of needle usage, we can start transitioning many people into rehabilitation centers that enforce the reimplementation of society, entering the job force, and teach people the negative effects of suicide in the world. In order for us to truly see the harmful effects of mental health, we need to attack the root of the problem as the UNHRC, and attempt to fix the solution. We cannot continue to solely raise awareness. We need to take a step back, think about the roots of our problem, and take another leap forward towards saving those affected by mental health.

What can be improved
In terms of sentence structure and grammar, the essay is generally well-written. However, there are some areas where improvement is needed, such as the following sentence: "Local government treatment and specific use of the substance abuse and opioid substance centers are crucial in hopes of saving thousands of people." This sentence is confusingly constructed, and it would benefit from rephrasing. Additionally, while the essay presents a clear argument for the importance of mental health awareness and intervention, it lacks specific examples or evidence to support its claims. For example, the essay mentions that mental illness negatively affects the economy, but it does not provide any data to back up this claim. Including specific examples and evidence would strengthen the essay's argument and make it more persuasive. Finally, the essay's voice could benefit from being more active and engaging. Rather than simply presenting information, the essay could use more vivid language and personal anecdotes to draw the reader in and make them care about the issue of mental health. For example, the essay could describe the experiences of someone who has struggled with mental illness and how they were able to find help. To improve the quality of the essay, the writer could consider incorporating specific data and examples to support their argument, as well as using more active and engaging language. Additionally, the writer should pay attention to sentence structure and grammar to ensure that the essay is clear and easy to understand. Overall, with these improvements, the essay could be a more powerful and effective call to action for increased awareness and intervention around mental health issues.
