Oprah Winfrey once said, “where there is no struggle, there is no strength.” And while I never define my obstacles as ‘failures,’ instead it is a way to become more strength, I mark my success by my repeated perseverance through adversity. I have faced several challenges over the years, from working to homelessness.
I deserve this scholarship because I have the strength and determination to achieve my goals, no matter what hurdles I have to overcome. When I had decided to study aboard, I just have 16 years-old. At first, everything seems new, weird and exciting. It takes a few months for the shock to settle down until you start to become familiar with everything and how everything works. In my second year of my A-Level, my family started to have a financial problem due to increased inflammation and economics problems in Iran as result they could not support me and I had been starting to work part-time in the restaurant. I had to go to college from 9 a.m. then working up to 1 a.m. It was hard for me and I faced a lot of problem and challenge but I gained experience which I could not imagine that I could do it in my entire of my life.
Furthermore, I was thankful and respect every money I earned because I toil for long hours in appalling conditions in the restaurant. meanwhile, I was studying hard owing to I love subjects which I chose for my A-Level and my aim to become a dentist. since my dream job has been dentistry. After I finished my A-Level I came back to my motherland country and took a gap year. Due to I could not afford my university fee. (however, I accepted by a university) Besides, I volunteer in several places such as dentistry and hospice, charity. In volunteering in dentistry, I found out that as a dentist you have to deal with patients from all walks of life, which I would find very interesting. the experience was invaluable, as it provided me with a more intimate view of Dentistry. Besides, volunteering in charity and teach English to kids profound a sense of satisfaction, of joy, of delight, of happiness. and I see people working there from the heart, not the head. I do all of these work experiences with my love.
As a consequence, I deserve this scholarship because I have the passion and determination to become a dentist. being a dentist will be a rewarding career because I will be doing work that will help improve people’s health and cure diseases. Through my studies and my personal experiences, I am convinced that dentistry is the right choice for my university degree. I appreciate your consideration, and I look forward to the opportunities this scholarship will give me, both academic and professional.
