Why I Want to Study in China (motivational Letter)

I have completed my undergraduate studies in BSc Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Pakistan, in November 2016. The journey of my educational career started with an Industrial Tour to a Power Generation Company arranged by my school in the early days of my matriculation. Being at such a small age, I was greatly enthused by the heavy machinery like generators, transformers, turbines, boilers and pumps lodged in there and from that day onwards, I decided to pursue my higher studies in Mechanical Engineering. In my undergraduate years, I've assimilated a strong background in the fundamentals of the basic mechanical engineering subjects like Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass transfer, Fluid mechanics etc. I have also had an introduction to specialized areas like Energy Resources and Utilization and Production Management. I strongly believe in learning practically by doing; it is the hope of coming up with path breaking results through experimentation that I find very fascinating. The four years stay at the University largely delineates me today, both educationally and professionally. Qualified faculty including PhD’s from the world renowned institutes broadened my mind with theoretical knowledge. Different technical societies like ASME and ASHRAE encouraged me to organize different competitions during my bachelors; thus improving manifold times my managerial skills. During final year of my bachelor’s degree, I undertook my final thesis project “Design and Implementation of Inventory Management System at Mumtaz Metal Care” in which I designed the inventory management system for their factory.

Professional Background

Currently, I am working as Technical Support Engineer at HMA Pumps and my jobs major responsibilities include designing clean and waste water pumps for different ongoing government and private projects for supply of clean water or disposal of waste water and preparation of technical bid/ submittals for consultant evaluation. Along with the technical aspects I also have on site experience about pumps installation. In addition to my current job I also have past experience of three months internship at Honda Atlas cars private limited where I learned about the production of cars and one month internship at DG Khan Cement where I learned about the production of cement.

My Personality

I am an extremely determined person. No matter what, I will push through limitations and adversity to try and get what I want, and what is best for myself and those around me. I am able to keep a calm and level head whenever I am in situations of stress. Beyond that, I am extremely compassionate, friendly and kind. I find myself engaging everyone from strangers to good friends in conversation, and I enjoy the idea of becoming someone that others trust and respect and seek out to whenever they need any help.

Study Plan in China

I would like to apply for the Master degree Program in Environmental Science, Engineering and Management at Tsinghua University due to my current job experience at HMA Pumps where we deal with the provision of clean water and disposal of waste water. Industrial production has an enormous impact on the environment, and society’s awareness of such effects is constantly growing that is why I have decided to choose this course because in the coming years environmental preservation will be of the paramount importance. During my studies I would like to learn every aspect of the environmental engineering and management and I will try to perform to the best of my abilities to not only help my professors and also my colleagues in coming with new research ideas and solutions that can help us preserve our environment. I strongly believe that I will be able to help my country with the help of expert and experienced faculty at Tsinghua and the knowledge earned through the Master program at this prestigious institute.

Reasons to Study in China

Most of the universities in china are ranked among the best universities in the world. Pursuing my higher studies in one of the most reputed and prestigious university of the world has been my long cherished dream. There is no doubt in the supremacy of the Chinese Universities in the world in the present era. Apart from this I have taken a certificate in Chinese language where I was taught by qualified Chinese teachers because I was always fascinated by the Chinese language, culture and its people due to the country’s fastest growing economy and technological advancements. I am from a country where whenever there is a need to solve a problem or to complete any project the first thing we look at is to hire a Chinese firm so it would be a great idea to get a degree from a Chinese institute so that I can learn from the best and most qualified people and in turn can help my country in overcoming its problems.

Conclusion

All these are few of the many reasons that makes China and ideal place to get my Master degree.
