From my early age, I always wanted to sink into the profoundness of languages and cultures which have really been a great source of inspiration of my life. Culture is the beliefs and customs presiding over the life of a society for which a specific language is the organ of articulation. Since Nepal is a multi-lingual and multi-cultural country, I am fortunate enough to dwell in such an engaging community which teaches me the way of life via various media. Different languages and cultures fascinate me. I have learned various languages and cultures from my very born day, and I would love to share them to the new environment where I would also get an opportunity to pick up on distinct languages and cultures. This particular thing appealed me to apply for the International House where people from all around the world would share the cultures and languages under the same roof. Since the International House provides "A Window on the World", I can imagine how innovative and supportive environment I will be living in for next four years.
I can make magnificent contributions to the welfare of the International House and its members. They can get chummy with the diversified Nepalese language and culture. I can introduce fresh programs like 'Deusi Bhailo' among the members and can spread meaningful information about such programs. Since Nepalese cultures cover a large number of a festival, I can organize such festivals on the very day when we celebrate the festival in Nepal and can make members familiar with the festivals. I can make them understand the significance of some of the important aspects like 'Khukuri', 'Daura Surwal', 'Guniyo Cholo', 'Dhaka Topi', specific emblems, etc in the Nepalese culture. Every Nepalese are circumscribed by a common feeling of Nationhood and bottomless reverence towards the nation and a feeling of brotherhood or sisterhood towards other citizens. Such unity in diversity can truly be an exemplary for other nation's citizen.
Different ideas are engendered by the use of genres of language, and languages are used to convey culture and cultural ties. In the pool of diversified cultured students, I can spot the variance in culture and language via cross-cultural interactions. After getting into the International House, I can grasp a remarkable international experience by joining Jacksonville State University International Program that connects students with abroad opportunities. Furthermore, I can get involved in several events and presentations which will be a great platform to continue my leadership step in the future as well. I can also organize community service programs for the betterment of the JSU family.
Hence, I believe my presence influence the surrounding around me as I always make the vicinity driven, animated, and glamorous where I step and change the prospect of the people who have bonded with me. I pursue to continue such activities in my coming days as well which motivated me to apply for the International House.
