Why Our School Needs a New Study Hall: Personal Arguments

I would like to add a study hall at the end of the school day because kids who need help can get help from teachers, kids who dont have books or need them for an assignment can get them. It can help out working parents who can't pick up their kids. This would be majorally beneficial for the students and parents.

First of all, it would help kids who need guidance on an assignment. Due the COVID-19 we are not able to be in the classroom but have this great tool called office hours. Office hours is from 2:20-3:00 pm and you can go there to ask questions you may have, schedule appointments, and ask for help on an assignment. You can also go there to retake any works or tests if the teacher allows you to. In regualr school you would have to ask a teacher for help in your own time and usually with switching classes you wouldnt have much time. If the school adds a study hall students can ask for help without being in a rush and can help others students in a grade or to younger than them.

In addition, students can get free books and work in a queit space. They could create a school study hall in the school library and kids who needs books or dictionaries for an assigment could get them. Many assignments require dictionaries and books and many students dont have access to them. At the public library many books charge a fee and some students may not want to pay to learn. With a school study hall students can get books and return them at any time.

Furthermore, this can really help out bus students and students who have to stay after school because of their working parents. Many parents have work schedules that do not comply with their childrens school schedule. If the school adds a study hall these students can do their work, ask for help, and their parents wont have to worry about picking them up on time. Parents can pick them up at the time they are available and this with also give staff extra time to prepare for tomorrow with doing work from home. This will also help out busses with not wasting the district money on gas and extra money on cleaning the busses.

In conclusion, I believe that my school should add a study hall. It is beneficial to students, staff, and parents. It also dosent cost much money to invest into and will save our district money.
