My Plans for a Successful Future

They say that young adulthood is a period of exploration: The time during which one discovers who they are. Being only seventeen, I’ve yet to truly grasp the concept of my own self- identity. This is what I do know about myself.

My name is Anonymous, and I am a senior in high school. I’m an artist. I like to think about familiar concepts in unfamiliar ways. I like to make things beautiful. I am passionate. I like to think that if I contemplate long enough and hard enough about society’s problems, I’ll have a breakthrough that will change the world. I want to change the world, which is why I will be majoring in business.

Now, this might not sound very sensible. Trust me, I didn’t see the logic behind it either for a very long time. I thought that the best way to change the world was to change a few lives, so I was very adamant about becoming a clinical psychologist for a long time. However, with recent events in politics. I am starting to understand what a big role our political leaders play in our quality of life. So why not become a politician? If I’ve learned one thing from the current election, it is that money is power. Politicians are bought by the wealthy, in order to aid the wealthy in maintaining their status. I want to develop an extremely wealthy business franchise, so that way with my voice I can speak for the people who routinely go unheard in this country.

I plan to achieve my goals by first graduating high school. I hope to raise my GPA as much as possible, and then I hope to attend a university with a well- recognized business program. During college, I would like to pledge the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in order to build relationships with people like me so that we can uplift each other and actively work towards achieving our goals. I hope to participate in internships and projects that will prepare me for becoming an entrepreneur. I plan to get my bachelor’s in Business Administration before opening a business, and I would like to go on to get my master’s degree in whatever field becomes most relevant to me as I narrow down exactly what type of business I would like to establish.

I would like to be known for my integrity and my selflessness. I want to be a sort of leader for the voiceless and oppressed communities in America. I want to help individuals who wish to better society to achieve their goals. I want to remember where I came from as I go on to achieve great things. I hope that my life touches the lives of others for generations to come.

I haven’t been expelled from my early college program, which in my opinion is a huge achievement considering that we have lost a fifth of our class already. I have truly grown and matured as a person thanks to this program. I am a much better student now than I was three years ago. I have had experiences that have had a huge impact on my character and personality. I have acquired essential skills in areas such as organization, time management and communication that I will carry with me throughout my academic career and through my endeavors in business.

I am currently volunteering with a non- profit organization called Life Skills 4 Youth which fosters the growth and development of fundamental skills for children and adolescents which they will need throughout their lives. Additionally, this year I plan on volunteering with the Fayetteville State University Theater in their upcoming production of Seven Guitars. I hope to find time to volunteer with children in my community this year as well.

I have many plans for the future, and I am working hard to make them happen. I hope that through my efforts, I will become successful in achieving my aspirations. I know that it will take time and effort, and I am currently dedicating both to ensure that my dreams become a reality.
