The four ideals of the Declaration of Independence are all important in keeping the government fair and equal. One of the ideals is the true rule of the United States and it is the most important one out of the four. It is the ideal that states all people are equal at birth. In order to keep a country truly equal everyone needs to be treated the same. It is so much harder for people to make a difference in our country if they are treated differently than everyone else. The other ideals are also very important because they allow people to maintain basic rights and a fair government. Having natural rights allows people to do things that the government can’t stop because the government can’t take away these rights. Having power in the government as a citizen is also very important. This way the President can’t make laws or decisions without the consent of the people. However the first ideal is the most important because equality is the first step in any country. A country can’t maintain basic right or have a fair government if everyone is not treated equally. This ideal also keeps the United States at peace because nobody is arguing over equality. The ideal that all people are equal at birth is the most important because it gives everyone a fair chance, keeps everyone at peace, and influences our society.

The ideal gives everyone a fair chance because it is harder to make a difference if they are treated unfairly. The most important thing about freedom is that people can do whatever they please. If certain people are not as free as others then there is no point in freedom. The United States allowed women, refugees, and immigrants a new chance at life because of equality. Even though they didn’t get that equality right away women were still able to be free. They set up a women’s rights convention and were free to do that which was a step towards the right of women. Similarly the refugees and immigrants had a rough start but eventually they went to school and had a chance to succeed. Diana Pham an immigrant from Vietnam states in Document A, “Our two daughters are just finishing their university education at Stanford and Michigan which would have never been possible without this country’s belief in inequality” (Diana Pham). It didn’t matter that they didn’t get equality at first because they believed in themselves and eventually got the rights they wanted. Equality overruled everything else because freedom would not be possible without equality in America. The ideal made it easier for people to gain freedoms that were not possible before. It brought people together and made the United States better. That fair chance really affected what the United States is today.

It also kept everyone at peace. It is evident in other countries who do not have these ideals that inequality causes major havoc in society. When everyone is happy, everyone is at peace. Equality is the number one thing to keep the country peaceful and chaos free. Before these ideals were set many people protested against the government. This made other people unhappy because of the mayhem it caused. Nowadays, there are much less protests on government matters than there were when inequality didn’t exist. Equality has kept the United States together and as a whole. It is important everyone is happy in a free country where people have the option to go against the law in support of their rights. Even with these cons the government tries their best to enforce equality and deplete the number of protesters by fixing all the problems they can. In the long run, equality is the main thing that keeps our country peaceful.

Lastly, equality influences our society to make a difference. Before, people like refugees and serfs didn’t improve our way of living because they didn’t get the opportunity to do that. Instead they were treated unfairly and thought of as outcasts. Now that they are equal they are part of our society and can make a difference if they wanted to. This was previously not possible. The ideal make everyone in our country feel the same and like they belonged. This was proven when Diana Pham states in document A, “My daughters had an equal opportunity to succeed. America has given our family the chance to become whatever we choose to become” (Diana Pham). The equality inspired many people to pursue an education and live a good life in America. A counter for this point would be it took a while for all these people to gain the equality they were looking for. To counter back yes it took a long time but look at the way things are now, The United States is one of the most free countries in the world. Many people are immigrating to The United States for a better life because they know their previous life was not nearly as good as it is going to be. People can do whatever they want however they want in our society. That is how equality has made a difference and why it is the most important thing for a country to have.

Ultimately, the first ideal stating all people are equal at birth proves that it gives everyone a fair chance, keeps everyone at peace, and influences our society therefore making it the most important ideal. It gives everyone a fair chance because some people are born in a lower social status than others. The ideal allows all people to be treated the same at birth even if they have less money or some differences. It also allows everyone to be at peace. In a free country like the United States people often protest if something is unfair. Giving everyone the right of equality quiets those protesters and keeps the country content. Finally, the first ideal influences our society. People have gone to school and helped their community when they had always assumed they would be treated differently. Equality gave everyone a new chance to make a difference in their family or society. Even now in today’s world, equality is helping people get a fresh start and allowing The United States to run at its full potential.
