Planet Earth has been changing and revolutionizing throughout the course of humanization in both positive and negative ways. Recently there has been a lot more negative things occurring in the world. We all have been doing positive and negative things throughout our lives whether it’s littering for negative or volunteering at school for positive as an example. Many people do these negative and harmful actions just because, they don’t know or aren’t educated about the effects and consequences of what they are doing. The purpose of this essay is about the importance of education and how it helps the world keep running.
Before anything, let us take a deep dive into history from centuries ago and how there’s proof of how education revolutionized the world and made the world a better and convenient place to live in. Most famous inventions that we need in our lives or makes our life a lot more convenient were invented by people who were educated very well. For example, Alexander Bell who is known for inventing the first telephone or the Wright Brothers who were American inventors who successfully designed, built and flew the first powered aircraft in 1903. Like can you imagine life if these geniuses didn’t invent those things? So many international businesses wouldn’t be as popular without planes and it would be very difficult for teams to travel from city to city for professional games. Or imagine life without phones currently, where you can do so many things online. Like almost every student from my school has a phone. These are only some things that couldn’t happen without phones or planes. Those 2 examples are only a tiny part of how education made the world a better place to live in.
Educating people can help the whole world fight one of the biggest crises occurring in the world. The crisis is pollution. To be honest, when I was in elementary school I didn’t care about littering and when my parents yelled at me I didn’t listen. But when I got to grade 9, when we learned about ecology and how litter gets into the ocean and kills animals and fish it made me feel so guilty and bad. This is a great example to show a regular science class in high school can really help someone understand what they’re doing is wrong. I’m not going to act like I haven’t ever littered since grade 9 but I have decreased the number of times I do it by a lot. Unfortunately, there are many kids and even adults in countries, usually people from second and third world countries who do not or did not get the chance to be educated about this serious problem that is getting way out of hand. Countries like America, China, Russia, India, and Japan are responsible for about 60% of pollution in the world.
Logically speaking, without education it is going to be impossible to reduce or find a solution to any problem. When someone has an education or any knowledge whether it is from something small like from a highschool credit or something big like a university diploma, it can be good enough to help someone understnad what their doing is wrong. Just like someone being educated about the problem of pollution can help them help the Earth become a better place to live in and so many other things could also chnage through education. Like global warming, cures to diseases, corruption, basic human rights, and many more.
Hopefully, after listening to this you recognize how important education is to the world. Hopefully, if you are lucky enough to have an education, don’t take it for granted and make great use of it. Don’t forget without education many things you use in your every day would have not existed. Take action and make the world a better place for yourself, others, and future generations to live in.
