It is necessary to fast for the first time in every natural treatment. The reason is that each disease is a result of the accumulation of excess toxic matter or stool in the body. Therefore, the remedy to eradicate the disease is to purify the body by eliminating that stool, and the initial step for purification is fasting. Is fasting healthy? Fasting entails completely refraining from all types of food. When we cease eating, our stomach becomes empty within five to ten hours, allowing the life force of the body that was previously engaged in digesting food to be freed up for cleansing the body. Without halting food intake and redirecting life's energy towards digestion, effective body cleansing cannot occur. This is why various treatments involving water, soil, sun exposure, air-conditioning, and more can be applied to resolve physical issues, but ultimate success can only be attained once the body is purified through fasting.
During fasting, not only stool is expelled through the anus, but also impurities are expelled from the eyes, ears, and nose. Filth accumulates on the tongue and teeth, while sweat becomes malodorous due to the expulsion of waste through the skin's follicles. Urine turns more yellow and acquires bitterness. Even the breath becomes noticeably unpleasant. In this way, all parts of the body undergo preparation for the cleansing process. Hence, it's important these days to maintain clean skin and senses rapidly. Fasting's effects typically manifest on the second or third day, and nausea might arise. However, this is not a cause for concern as it usually subsides within a day or two. Those who are physically or mentally weak can break their fast by consuming fruit juices after a day or two. While this approach might take longer, it is effective. Juices from fruits like oranges, seasonal fruits, sweet lemons, ginger, and pomegranates can be taken 4-5 times a day. If these fruits are expensive or unavailable, tomato and other vegetable juices are alternatives. The juice can be consumed in its raw state or cooked and strained, but it should be free of solid particles, resembling clear water. Watermelon juice or coconut water are also beneficial options. Avoid adding salt, sugar, or pepper to this diet. If the juice tastes very bland, a small amount of salt can be added. Keep in mind that moderation is essential. Overeating during this period can negate the benefits of fasting. Therefore, adhere to the principles of consuming food in moderation.
There is no need to fear or worry during days of fasting. Some individuals worry that fasting for two or four days will lead to weight loss. However, such concerns are unfounded. After fasting and resuming eating, the body undergoes rapid progress. In days of fasting, growth outpaces deficiency. It's worth noting that when someone grapples with a disease for 5 to 10 days, their hunger increases, and the body's weaknesses are quickly replaced by proper nutrition. This is because fasting cleanses the body and enhances the inner organs, enabling them to produce juices and blood more effectively. While fasting can initially result in decreased energy and weakness, the overall benefits of body purification make it worthwhile.
