MARS model of individual behavior is a model that seeks to elaborate individual behavior as a result of internal and external factors or influences combined together. It includes four factors that directly influence the work performance of a candidate. These four includes Motivation, Ability, Role Perception and Situational factors. In this model if one of the factors is disturbed it cause directly imbalance toward the performance of an individual. For Instance: A person who has knowledge regarding their duties and adequate resources to perform an activity, he will not perform his job in well manner because of lack of enough skills or ability.
People who work in recreational departments and in parks they perform number of activities like interact with people of all ages and children, to work with staff members in various fields and participated in community activities. For this type of occupation, a person has ability to perform multi activities about task. There are two factors influence the presentation in recreational departments that are Ability and Role perception.
In the parks or entertaining area employee must have ability to perform numerous tasks in one time. According to Robbins and Judge (2011), ability is the capacity of an individual to do various activities in one profession. Ability is major factor to know the skills and use to achieve a goal, but the lack of this mechanism leads to less achievement because all the other dimensions are meaningless if person is not capable to do work. Moreover, in this field there are lack of understanding the tasks also leads to poor performance or employees cannot accomplish the goal. To exemplify, if employee have high motivation, budget and time to perform activity but he has disoriented from his goal, consequences of this he is unable to finish targeted goal.
Solutions of these complications includes, increasing pragmatic skills of the employees by giving more knowledge about practical skills rather than theoretical area like students with a degree in recreational and park administration able to design a summer camp and learn the basic policies of budget analyze and financial management of the event. It also provides in service education to their employees regarding innovative thinking, about uses of new technology in role perception, how to diagnose problem and reasons behind it, planning and implementation of solution and analyze. To extend the abilities by redesigning job fitness and giving training. Coordinators and senior supervisors have duty to give techniques how to identify the job duties.
