Overtime, a good health has been an essential commodity for a comfortable life. Reason being that, good health aids outstanding performance. This has led to a health conscious people who loves to know the content of what they eat. This isn't surprising, since you are what you eat. The advent of Gaining consciousness of the content of what you eat also led to a generation of eating natural food then eating organic food followed.

Cashew tree produces a fruit and a seed (nut) which are both edible. The soft part is called the Apple while the seed is called Cashew nut. Cashew apple becomes red or yellow in colour when ripe. This fruit has high water content with a very satisfying flavor.

First, you must know that large daily intake of cashew can lead to constipation because of its low-fiber content. Therefore, you shouldn't overdo it. Consumption of cashew apple and nut reduces the chance of getting a heart disease. It contains unsaturated fats that are useful in lowering the cholesterol level in the heart. Also, the presence of Folic acid and some vitamins fight diseases off the heart. It also contains no cholesterol therefore, blood circulation is never hindered. The presence of proanthocyanins in cashew helps in suppressing cancerous cells from replicating themselves. Also, the presence of copper reduces cell mutation and helps in preventing bone inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis and injuries alongside its high magnesium content.

This fruit and its nut can be eaten by consumer on a weight loss plan. The copper content helps to break down fat molecules instead of it being stored in the body of the animal. Other minerals like zinc, magnesium and some protein found in cashew can help in fat metabolism and replace fats found in obesed people's belly. Eating Cashew reduces oxidative damage of the cell thereby neutralizing radicals due to the presence of vitamins (A&K) serving as antioxidants. Anacardic acid which is an extract from cashew is used as an antioxidants which reduces the rate of ageing.

Lowers the risk of having Gallstones (hardened cholesterol). This is evident in cashew consumers. Cashew juice can be used for cure of dysentery and as anti-diarrheal. Grounded cashew nut can be used for snake bites. Cashew has equally got good packs of eye protective contents like lutein, zeaxanthin which prevents damages to the eye from excessive exposure to light.
