This article on capital punishment is a critical evaluation of the position capital punishment secures in our society. Capital punishment itself exists as a permanent solution to temporary problems caused by the wrong doers in our society. In this novel, the writer relates to the case of one convicted serial murderer, Ted Bundy. Ted Bundy in this context is guilty as charged. The fact behind this argument is that he has been linked to a series of murders from his hometown and other different areas. His countless murders are creating tension in the society, with the author closely narrating the story of one Georgeann, a college student.
The girl was abducted on her way to sleep, murdered and dumped. This story explains the methods used by the serial killer, Ted Bundy, in attracting and then murdering his victims. The federal courts convicted Ted Bundy of murder and jailed him. He later escaped on two occasions, where he continued with his murder adventures. The third time he was led into prison saw the end of his sagas. The federal law had agreed to impose capital punishment on Ted Bundy as an appropriate solution to eliminating his threat level in the society. Ted Bundy in this situation is just a mere example on why we need capital punishment in our court systems. Capital punishment can be used to eliminate the individuals who post as continued threats in the society.
The society however in the view and arguments compiled by amber is not fully supportive of this motion. The society loses thousands of innocent blood in road accidents, cancer and other death related causes. Their view of capital punishment as an appropriate solution to reducing the number of innocent deaths is has not yet dawned on them. In this context, most society members argue that there is no need for capital punishment to be imposed in the court systems. The Capital punishment method on Ted Bundy was slow and silent death. An injection that was chemically composed for the event was injected to his arm as he slowly faded away.
The girls around his areas of hunting were now safe and could freely intermingle as a result of his absence. The argument in this article is the need for capital punishment in the maintenance of justice and equality to community members. The society members should therefore realize that there are greater and painful deaths that result to innocent people as compared to the silent death as a result of capital punishment on the guilty. The author’s intention to bring balance is evident where there is a brief comparison of capital punishment and how the society values it. In the eyes of a prisoner, most favor for the capital punishment claiming that life imprisonment was a living hell and unbearable to any breathing human being. The two close alternatives; life in prison and death, many prisoners prefer death considering that it is less painful and that they will not suffer from the life imprisonment.
In conclusion, the society should draw lines and establish their view on capital punishment. They should appreciate its presence as a valid method to solving the mortality rates. According to the arguments in regards to capital punishment, the best solution is to lie with the side that has more advantages.
