The UDHR is an international document that states basic rights and fundamental freedoms to which all human beings are entitled.I believe every nation of the world signed this because of the moral values that it stood for. The UDHR stood for people being able to think and feel how they want. It stands for people being allowed to believe in whatever religion they choose. It also stands for the belief that we are all born free and equal.I think this was something that was meant to be carried on to future generations as well.
Another reason they signed it was because after what Hitler had done there needed to be an example set early that his actions were very wrong.Hence why there were laws saying don't discriminate, everyone has the right to life, no unfair detainment, and everyone has the right to find a safe place to live. When you see how people like HItler tried to wipe out a whole race and peoples freedoms were completely stripped from them it's viewed by the majority as morally wrong. So the nations of the world all signed the UDHR so something like this would never happen again. Signing this was a statement being made that this is the way humans of all nations should be treated.
When the Nations of the world signed the UDHR they signed it because they wanted a world where people would not be judged. They wanted people to be able to marry who they want, they wanted people to not be judged by the color of their skin, they wanted people to feel free to say what they felt, and they wanted people that were accused of a crime to have a fair trial instead of being thrown in jail. If there were any countries that were stripping people of their rights the UDHR was an example of how countries should treat their people and what rights they should have. If people don't know what their rights are it is much easier to take them away. So having the UDHR created and translated was a great example for all countries to follow.
Signing the UDHR meant that countries agreed to give people the freedoms they deserve. It also meant they would allow people to make the choices they want and not allow their governments force them to do anything. Being able to make your own choices about your marriage, religion, family, and politics without consequence is what the UDHR was trying to implement. When the countries signed the UDHR they wanted all these rights for people in their country. Not only for the people of their time but for future generations as well. So signing the UDHR was a symbol that as a country we support the right and freedoms to which all humans are entitled.
In conclusion the nations of the world signed the UDHR because they wanted people of the world to have all the rights and freedoms they are entitled to. It was signed because of the moral values that it stood for. It was signed because not giving people fair treatment and not allowing them to make decisions is taking their rights away from them. It was signed because having someone else like Hitler in the world would not be acceptable. It was signed to set an example to the world that this is how all people should be treated no matter who you are. That is why the nations of the world signed the UDHR.
