Seen by most as just splotches on a paper, art has showed beyond doubt that its use is as magnificent as its grandeur. Art is used in many different ways all around the globe and now appears in various forms because of it. Art can be the key to uniting people of all backgrounds and make an impact on all those that come upon it. Not only has art proven to be beautiful, it has also proven its use in real world situations. Due to art being seen mostly as a form of entertainment or only as decoration for the empty areas on walls, many don’t see how much of an impact it can have on everyday life. In reality, art influences and changes society’s perspective on a variety of topics on a day-to-day basis.
When interacting with one another, people tend to stray away from each other because there is no foundation for them to build their relationships upon. The way that art is constructed allows it to be perceived in ways that people who believe they have nothing in common, can actually be able to relate to one another with the messages being portrayed in the artwork. For example, if a person of higher class and a person of lower class, both with children, were to come upon a painting of a child starving to death, both would more than probably sympathize with the child and put money aside to try and make a change to a very serious problem in the world today. Although the artwork may not be able to make a change immediately, it ignites a fire inside people that pushes them to want to permute the way things work and challenge what they believe should be improved upon or altered.
When dealing with history, we tend to research so far back into the past, that we end up stumbling upon a time where writing didn’t exist which is where art would come into play. Long ago, art was used to keep record of what was occurring in that time and the early human’s way of life. For instance, cave paintings were used by early humans not only to express their thoughts, but to paint a story of things such as animals, events, and their families. These paintings have allowed modern day researchers to find and confirm information obtained through the various stories painted within the walls of many caves. Without the use of cave paintings in the past, a substantial amount of research would’ve never been stumbled upon and people would be left clueless about a vast amount of knowledge on the early peoples.
What the majority of people doesn’t seem to really ruminate and comprehend, is the fact that art in the form of propaganda, has been proven to be fairly useful in the past and present. Propaganda has influenced many to volunteer for wars that have taken place and partake in supporting the cause at hand in any possible way that they could. For instance, the ‘I Want You!’ poster was used during wars to make people feel that they were a part of something much loftier and significant then they were, provoking them to want to be a part of a greater cause. Without the use of this outlet, numerous amounts of tasks wouldn’t have been completed and many of the victories America has under its belt, would most definitely not be as adequate. The use of this form of art has proven to be fairly useful throughout history and shouldn’t ever be neglected or forgotten.
Even though art is indeed alluring to observe, what is really captivating about it is its avail. No matter the issue or occasion, art can be fabricated into an abundance of divergent forms in any situation whether it be fair or poor. For what it’s worth, art has come a long way in its industry and will continue to prove itself useful to society whether the majority agrees or disagrees.
