A lot of people may associate a cake with celebrations. Although events such as weddings, birthday parties, among other similar events have a variety of food and drinks, cakes are the star of the show. In fact, an event without a cake is deemed incomplete. But how is it prepared? You can either purchase it or make it at home, but as many may not know, there’s nothing sweeter than a cake that one makes for themselves, at home. Baking a cake is a fun and simple process that can be done by practically anyone. This process essay gives a step by step breakdown of how to make a cake with your own touch at the end.
First you will need several ingredients. They include cake mix, milk, butter, eggs, cooking spray and cake frosting. You will also need the following supplies: a large bowl, mixer, spoon, knife, two round nine inch pan, cooling rack and a cake pan. The mouthwatering and delicious cake will be your reward by following these steps. Now you want to turn your oven on 350°F. Depending on your oven, it could take fifteen minutes or longer to preheat. While you’re waiting you want to spray the inside of your pans with cooking spray and begin to prepare your cake batter.
In a large bowl, combine your wet ingredients, 1 cup of milk, 1/3 of melted butter and 3 eggs. Using your mixer, you want to mix your ingredients for a minute on low speed. Now that you’ve combined your wet ingredients, add your cake mix and mix for another minute, then you want to increase the speed and continue to mix for two more minutes. Mix the ingredients until it becomes thick and smooth. After mixing the ingredients, pour the batter evenly into your round pans. Use a spoon to scrape any additional batter from the bowl into the pans.
You want to bake your cake for twenty-five to thirty minutes on 350°F, but depending on your oven the baking time might take a bit longer. Be sure to keep an eye on the cake throughout the time it is baking. Towards the end of the baking time, you want to check your cake by sticking a knife in the center. The cake is done when the knife inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. When the cake is done, you want to remove it and turn your oven off. Next you need to place the pans on a cooling rack for fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes has passed, run a knife around the edge of the pan to remove the cake and place it on the rack.
Now you’re ready to decorate your cake. This step is done your way depending on the type of icing you like on your cake. To frost the cake, your cake must have cooled completely an attempt to add frosting to a warm cake will cause it to melt. Now you want to take the icing, of your choice, and stir it up a little to get a smoother result. Place one of your cakes on a plate, add your icing and spread it over one of your cakes and another is placed on top of the first. Repeat. It is eating time and everybody will enjoy!
So as we have seen, you can either purchase it or make it at home, but as many may not know, there’s nothing sweeter than a cake that one makes for themselves, at home. If done correctly these simple steps can be done by practically anyone. Also, you can have fun and get creative when decorating your cake. It’s a fun activity to do with friends, family, etc and you can enjoy a delicious treat at the end!
