Why should we eat healthy food? The aim for this essay is to reveal the idea of balanced diet, but not just a 'dieting'. Taking healthy food in right amount and time is simplified definition of Balanced Diet. Single food does not contain all the nutrients so we should take such foods that contain all essential nutrients and vitamins that give us energy, increase our life span and make our routine healthy.
Different food contains different nutrients and each nutrient has different function. For example, the protein present in meat, fish, eggs, milk (good source of calcium for bones and teeth), soy beans helps in building and repair of body. Flaxseeds good source of protein. Vitamins and minerals present in fruit and vegetables are required for normal growth and development of body. They are called protective food. Fats present in butter, ghee, milk, cheese gives more energy to our body. Carbohydrates (energy giving food) present in rice, wheat, potato, sugar give less energy as compared to fats.
The healthy food protects you from various ailments, diseases, infections and boost your immunity and fight with your infections and give you energy when your body needs. Drinking water and those fruits that contain more content of water like strawberry contains 90% of water, watermelon solve the dehydration problem of many people. Our body contains 2/3 of water. Bananas are a great source of increasing immunity. Eat food that contain antioxidants. Lemon is a great source of vitamin C essential for increasing immunity and absorption of iron in body.
Since it’s the era of junk food that make us suffer a lot. Junk food contains low nutritional value content and after eating it regularly many diseases like obesity (weight gain), hypertension (high blood pressure), cancer, diabetes, etc. are the outcomes of this bad choice. It is basically a choice we opt over healthy food. Healthy food is protecting us while this junk food is destroying our body. Eating healthy is not always a hard thing to do.
Timing is also important for healthy body. Eat within 30 minutes of waking up and 12:45 is ideal time for lunch and perfect time for dinner is before 7pm. Focus on breakfast. This should be a priority. Eat some fruits and snacks in noon and then do dinner with your family. Snack must be health in order to attain good health.
In short, nutrient content of food is important means which food contain which content like carbs, proteins, vitamins (A, D, E and K) and fats in right proportion. All are good for our body. But only a balanced diet can provide all the nutrients that our body need, eating all the time carbohydrates or proteins will not benefit you at all. In addition to this, you should do exercise for at least 30 minutes in the morning to keep your body fit and in proper shape. This will lead to healthy life style. Keep smiling always.
