To change opinions and attitudes, those who fight in favor of life must engage educated discussions with those in favor of legal abortion and compel the pro-abortion side to explain and justify their beliefs. Abortion is a topic that brings conflict to our society, it does not matter if you agree with the pro-life or pro-choice decisions. Those in favor of legal abortion have to prove that the unborn are not alive or not they are human beings; or they have to prove that although they are living human beings, they do not deserve protection for some main reason. Be continually repeating empty words like 'election,' 'reproductive freedom,' and 'fundamental rights' are not reasoned arguments. Those who fight for life have to overcome this rhetoric, and challenge opponents to engage intelligent and thoughtful discussions. Abortion in the United States is legal. Each state can regulate the law upon when the abortion can be done. For many years the U.S. has been considered a conservative or Christian country and that is one of the main reasons why people are opposed to abortion. This law is a controversial topic because is a sensitive matter that is related to the people morals and beliefs.

In January 22 of 1973, was the date when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of pro-choice decision. Most women abort because they feel they do not have the financial or family resources to raise a child and feel they have no choice. When those in favor of abortion continually focus on and depend on the word 'choice,' they give the impression that for the woman, the decision to abort is so trivial, such as the decision to choose between the taste of ice cream that one goes to eat, chocolate or vanilla. This is horribly wrong and completely ignores the real problems that women face with unplanned pregnancies. Roe was a resident of the state of Texas that wanted to terminate her pregnancy and during the time it was not allowed unless the women’s health was at risk. The Roe case eliminated almost all legal restrictions for abortions during the period when fetuses are not considered viable to survive outside the womb, which is believed to happen up to twenty-four weeks after the woman's last menstrual cycle. 7 judges voted in favor of a pro-choice law and only 2 against it.

Another argument used by those who are against abortion is, 'they had to take care of themselves' however, the sexual education we receive is insufficient and full of taboos especially for women, not to mention rural communities where a man can hit or kill your partner by using a contraceptive method. The reality of our country exceeds us in terms of sex education and technology is not available to all, many women who come to perform abortions are mothers who due to the harsh economic conditions can’t continue having children, but who also do not have the means to avoid pregnancy.

The criminalization of voluntary abortion in Argentina is a normative extension of the criminalization of homicide. The latter is consistent with the recognition of the right to life. The right to life is the first and fundamental human right. Although it is not an absolute right (think of self-defense), the right to life is, as a first and fundamental right, superior to all other rights (including the right to physical integrity, to the control of one's own body, or to the Health). The criminalization of abortion, then, is the legal protection of the right to life of the embryo or fetus. That right is superior to any other right that another person may invoke. In this sense, once granted that the embryo / fetus has the right to life, the decriminalization of abortion is indefensible. No one has the right to kill another person, except when protecting their own life requires it. The key plot step, then, refers to the embryo / fetus as a subject of law.

The lack of access to legal abortion in conditions of equality, dignity and security is a discriminatory practice that violates the human rights of women, transgender people, girls and adolescents to health, to life, to physical and moral integrity, to no be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and expose them to being victims of institutional violence. The inaccessibility to legal abortion, in addition, pushes them to resort to unsafe and risky abortion methods for their lives, which derive, in many cases, in deaths or in the affectation of their health. Some causes of the lack of access to legal abortions are: bad faith of health providers and officials, ignorance of current law, lack of legal information of health professionals who fear a criminal sanction, abuse of conscientious objection with state tolerance, reprobation comments from hospital staff, institutional violence against women in these situations.
