Safety, strength, power, the key to overcome our fears are only a few words to describe what it feels like to own a gun. Guns have such a significant impact in our society today. Countless innocent lives had ended in the blink of an eye due to the incredible speed a bullet is able to pierce through one’s skin and rip an enormous hole through the body’s essential organs and blood vessels.

Unstrict gun laws plus effortless access to firearms have made it too plain sailing for an individual to practice suicidal behaviours and take away other people’s lives. The issue of gun control has long been an extremely controversial topic which has been talked about for generations. Although the majority of the population argue that they own guns for self-protection, researches done by professionals have again and again proven that a gun in the home escalates the probability of firearm-related death or injury to a household member this study suggested a gun stored at home for emergency purposes is generally more likely to be utilised negatively in an criminal assault and suicide attempt instead of its original intention to injure or kill an intruder in self-defense. Therefore, it is fully convinced that in order to establish a more peaceful environment for people to live in, a harsher policy regarding gun use must be promoted to ensure a decrease in the rate of innocent and accidental death.

As Barack Obama said, “We know we can’t stop every act of violence, every act of evil in the world, but maybe we could try to stop one act of evil, one act of violence.” This quote well justifies the reason why developing a better gun control policy is vital; it assists to reduce the chances of violence from even to occur in the first place. The reinforcement of gun control laws could potentially save millions of lives each and every year from horrific tragedies. Statistics from the United State’s government website showed that more than seventy-four thousand people die from gun misusage each year just in the US alone, that is an average of approximately a hundred and nine people dying per day with a death rate of 10.3 per 100,000 people. The above example clearly reflected that although it is considered human rights to be in the possession of a firearm, tightening gun regulations can cause no harm simply because it ought not be as easy as it is for an individual who wishes to inflict harm on others to get their hands on a weapon as powerful and deadly as a gun, this improvement in gun management if done effectively can also prevent incidents such as the Las Vegas Strip Shooting which killed and injured approximately a thousand people to happen again in the future.

Furthermore, stricter laws regarding firearms will also decrease the opportunity for a criminal or someone who is not in their most rational state of mind to get hold of a gun. According to the United State’s national institute of health more than sixty percent of inappropriate gun users display symptoms of at least one type of psychological illness. The behavioural health organisation also stated that when one are diagnosed with a mental disorder one tend to have a distorted perception of reality and severe mood swings consist of extreme happiness followed by a period of severe misery and depression, during those “down” times diagnosis would often perform manic actions, one of them being the urge to kill themselves or harm others. It is unfair to have someone with this kind of illness to be punished and sent to jail because of a crime they committed with a troubled mindset and again, these complications can all be resolved easily with a more complex process to receive a gun license and purchase a gun.

At last, for the majority of people the term “Gun Control” evokes an automatic response that gets interpreted by the brain as violating one’s rights to protect themselves during life threatening situations. On the contrary, the goal of a stricter gun control policy is not trying to violate anybody’s right, in fact this policy reform can only provide a wide variety of benefits. Firstly, it helps to promote a safer and more peaceful living environment where citizens no longer have to stress about getting shot at by a gun when walking on the street. Next, the policy also helps to reduce the rate of accidental death due to inappropriate use of firearms, especially those who have a psychological disorder. Therefore, in conclusion with all the evidence declared above, there should be no doubt to agree that finer approaches regarding the use of guns should be established as soon as possible.

What can be improved
The essay "The Benefits of Strict Gun Control" presents a well-organized and persuasive argument for stricter regulations on gun control. However, there are some areas where the essay could be improved for greater clarity and impact. One area that could be improved is sentence structure. For example, the sentence "Countless innocent lives had ended in the blink of an eye due to the incredible speed a bullet is able to pierce through one’s skin and rip an enormous hole through the body’s essential organs and blood vessels" could be rephrased for greater clarity, perhaps as "Bullets can pierce through skin and organs at incredible speeds, causing countless innocent lives to end in an instant." Additionally, some of the language used in the essay could be more precise. For example, the phrase "too plain sailing" could be replaced with "too easy" or "too simple." Similarly, the phrase "unstrict gun laws" could be replaced with "lax gun laws" for greater clarity. Finally, while the essay presents a compelling argument in favor of gun control, it could benefit from addressing potential counterarguments or addressing potential criticisms. For example, the essay could acknowledge the argument that stricter gun control laws may limit the ability of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves, and respond to this argument with evidence showing that stricter gun control laws can still allow for self-protection while reducing the risk of gun-related deaths. Overall, the essay presents a strong case for stricter gun control laws, with solid evidence and persuasive language. However, by improving sentence structure, precision of language, and addressing potential counterarguments, the essay could become even more effective in persuading readers of the importance of gun control.
