Not everyone likes having to go to physical education class every day, but what if doing so reduces the level of stress and helps students focus better. Students should be required to take a physical education course. Today countries fight with an excessive high obesity rate for young children. Physical education during school has a good benefit on brain power, well-being, and mental health. Taking a physical education course plays a big role in young children. Students should not have to sit down all day while in school. Students should be able to have time to get out of the classroom and have time to play around with friends or lift weights. “Almost any physical activity can make people more intelligent, studies show”. Researchers have said that, “physical activity can improve GPA for students and may also reduce dropout rates̈ for university kids”. Many of the activities or games played during physical education class takes a lot of concentration and good behaviors. Playing games in physical education class can strengthen the understanding learned in any other classes. Physical education class is not all just about improving your knowledge though. In today’s centuries there are many health problems throughout the country.

According to studies there is about a thirty-three percent obesity rate in young children who attend school. The heart plays a very important role in which it pumps blood throughout the entire body. When students do not get any activity throughout the day, they can be at a risk of getting various cardiovascular issues. Doing physical activity consistently can help to improve the absorption of nutrients in the body. Physical activity also helps to improve cardiovascular health and develop muscular strength. “Physical education classes provide a way for students to get some exercise, whether it be playing soccer or lifting weights”. Maybe when students are playing these games they will start to like them and maybe want to join a sport. Physical education courses can provide a choice to the students to seek new activities or to pursue one or several sports they are passionate about while still ensuring that everyone is getting their daily exercise. Christopher states that, “By increasing student participation and teaching units that are more relevant to students’ interests, physical education can be made both more enjoyable and more effective as a means for exercise”. Physical education provides a footway to a healthy lifestyle and a superb source of stress relief. Physical education class can be a vent for getting rid of stress and anxiety. “High school physical education classes have the potential to exert a tremendous positive impact on the students’ mental, physical and social well-being”. Studies have shown that the relationship between physical activity and stress has indicated that physical activity is a likely moderator between stress and health. Physical activity and movement around the gym can be considered as something more than a basic protection against disease or overweight. Physical education class can serve as a way to help students maintain and control their stress.

Some say that students should not have to take a physical education course. “Physical Education as a whole is not an effective solution to promote fitness for a few reasons”. Grace Chen states, “Gym class portrayed on the silver screen as a time of awkwardness and embarrassment, when kids have to climb ropes and do a certain number of push-ups in a minute’s time”. Grace is saying that students should not have to take a physical education course because some kids feel that they get bullied for not being able to do things others can. Physical education classes can help students to become more aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. “Regular physical activity can help to improve the absorption of nutrients in the body”. With physical education class, students get the opportunity to work as a team, question actions by their peers and accept responsibility for their own actions. Some kids may feel embarrassed but doing just the little things during class will help your body improve. One of the key benefits of physical education class is that it helps students to understand the importance of proper nutrition. This is particularly important in high school as this is where eating disorders and obesity prevails. With physical education and health, students understand the importance of eating well and the key nutrition guidelines.

Students should be required to take a physical education course. Physical education courses can help students become more informed about the significance of a better lifestyle. Being physically active reduces many health issues. Parents at home with their kids should be making sure that their kids are going outside and playing basketball, catch with their father, and etc. Doing this, the kids at a young age will like playing and when they go to physical education class it will be just like they are at home and will enjoy the class. As a teacher, is it more important for them to teach kids about the importance of physical education now and not later on in their life. Physical education during school will dramatically help students become and stay physically fit.
