The issue of health has been a major concern in human life. There are various causes of health problems such as diet, weather, organism disorders and lack of body exercise among others. Lack of regular body exercise has been a major cause of health problems in the world today. Among the health problems associated with lack of body, exercise is obesity, high blood pressure, and heart disease / stroke. Among the control measures of these diseases is regular body exercise (Lustig, 2013)
Taking the case of obesity, it has been among the major health problems in America and Europe. More than 35.7% of the American population is obese. At least 1 out of 20 people has extreme obese, making an approximate of 6.5% of the total population. 3 in 4 men are considered obese, giving an approximate of 78% of the whole population. This prevalence cuts across the two genders and all ages, affecting the youth and the adults as a whole. Obesity is generally been fat and overweight, and it's caused by excess adipose tissue. In the case of high blood pressure, approximately 70 million of the Americans population has been diagnosed with high blood pressure. This makes about 29% of the American population. Worldwide, two in every five people of the middle-aged adult suffer from high blood pressure. High blood pressure is associated with obesity. Also known as hypertension, high blood pressure overworks the heart in pumping the blood. This leads to the hardening of the arteries and may culminate to heart failure, stroke, and kidney diseases. An approximate of 1 in 4 people suffers from heart diseases, heart failure, and stroke, with over 610,000 Americans dying from heart diseases every year (Barbour, 2011).
The major causes of the three diseases are the lack of adequate body exercise. As a nurse, I would embark on advising people towards regular body exercise as a way of mitigating and eliminating these health problems. I would recommend people for body exercise and physical activity. A regular aerobic activity of about 20 to 3 minutes done at least 3 times a week will help mitigate the cases of obesity, heart attack and high blood pressure among the patients. These activities should comprise of muscle strengthening activities. Alternatively, daily 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity will also be appropriate control measure. These should be done at least 5 times in a week (Sugunendran 2012).
The body exercise will help in burning down excess fat and calories, which are the major causes of obesity. It also creates preserving muscles mass for fat storage and breakdown. The reduction in body fatness also reduces cases of high blood pressure. In the case of heart diseases, the control of blood pressure is the major step towards prevention of such. Regular physical exercise will also strengthen the heart muscles, thereby preventing stroke. The exercises also raise high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels, which is the good cholesterol, and equally lowering the low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels, which is regarded as the bad cholesterol. This step facilitates effective blood flow and increases heart working capacity. However, exercise is not the only control measure for these. There is a need for proper nutrition and healthy feeding habits. The clients should minimize fat and protein consumption, avoid the use of cholesterol fats and embark on balanced diets (In Green, L. W., In Sim, L. J., In Breiner, H., & Institute of Medicine (U.S.). (2013).
