In turning of a hand, this summer semester comes to an end. I realize that I should through serious thinking and reflection, include thinking what I learned in this semester, and more knowledge or skill could be learned in the future. I compiled a list four of achievement that I learned in class: learning style, my role in the community, time management, and student professionalism.

First, the learning style. It refers to learners’ continuous and consistent it with individual characteristics, which is the sum of studying strategies and learning tendencies. Through this course, I learned I am a visual learner, and as a visual learner, I prefer to remember and understand things by sight, I can imagine the picture that I saw and heard. It means I can remember information better and can better recall the information. But every coin has two sides, I have trouble to remember verbal information. Consequently, after I know my limitations, it makes me realize there are still some problem should be further improved, and I can extend my abilities and reach my highest potential.

Second, my role in the community. To find my role in the community that I live in, service-learning is an important concept. Service-learning is the activity that applies the pieces of knowledge studied in the lecture to real life, normally, some extent of contribution to the community. I learned that university study cannot be limited to theoretical knowledge, and only through the combination of theory and practice can we gain a profound understanding of theory. Therefore, I participated in the Vancouver Marathon as a volunteer. In some ways, this experience is like the group project in the classroom, but I got extra details that I might have missed in a regular course. I have improved my team organizing and interpersonal skills during this experience. On the other hand, some matters of mine also present during this experience of service-learning.

Third, time management. It is the most important thing that I learned about in this course. The first key to time management is to set clear goals. Success equals goals. The goal of time management is to make you achieve more goals in the shortest possible time, rank the importance of the goals you want to achieve, and then set detailed plans according to your goals. The key is to follow the plans. In addition, time management will directly affect their academic performance and the quality of life of university students, and it is also the ability should master in career planning. So, I made a calendar for myself, it helps me to activate and make good use of those fragmentary and wasted time. In fact, there is no denying that my time management level is still very low. Sometimes I feel I am pretty relaxed about time and have nothing to do, but sometimes I feel time constraint and many tasks cannot be accomplished. I always disturbed by unexpected events, so that I cannot complete the tasks that I planned.
