The aim of this report is to share my unforgettable trip to Leh Ladakh, India. I am going to talk about the concept of the tourist experience, what are the motivational factors that motivates me to travel there. Moreover, would like to discuss about the five phases of the recreation and tourist experience such as Anticipation, Travel to site, On site activities, Return travel and the remembrance (for example: how to plan a trip, how to get there (travel mode), what would be the duration of your stay, what activities you can do and so on). Last but not least, the type of tourists with different psychological characteristics. At the end I will wrap it all with the references and the sources.
It was the most awaited trip of my life, As I always heard about this place from my family friends who are residing in Leh Ladakh and I always keep on searching for this place through online sites. According to the research, the perfect time to travel in Leh Ladakh is from May to September. I always found this place like a heaven and a dream place from my college days. Finally in the month of July I started my journey from Delhi to Leh Ladakh via direct flight which took approx an hour to reach on my destination with my family. There are bundle of attractions in my mind to see such as Buddhist monasteries, Historical monuments, Lakes, Magnetic Hill, Valleys and so on. From start to end of our journey the view was breath taking mountains were covered with the sparkling sun rays and white clouds.
Travel to our destination was more captivating and amazing than I was thinking. When we finally reached at the airport we took a cab direct to the hotel where our rooms were booked. Due to the high altitude and low oxygen it took almost two days to adapt the climate so we stayed in hotel. We started our tour on the next day with museum in a memory of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army, it was a must visit place to get an idea what our armed forces go through to save the country. Then we went to the restaurant to have our lunch, where we enjoyed the home cooked, freshly organic prepared food like. We proceeded to Shanti Stupa a white dome structure dedicated to Buddhism which was almost 20 mints drive from the city centre and the sightseeing hotels and markets on our way.
Next morning first and foremost, we went to the District Commissioner’s Office in Leh to apply for Protected Area Permit; which was required to all visitors who are travelling in group and the foreign nationals. It costs 400 Indian rupees (INR) per person, which specify where we can visit and overnight. In the noon we started our journey to scenic drives we enjoyed the beauty of sightseeing confluence of the two rivers, where we stopped for river rafting, And then we left to Nubra valley for one night it was a small village, from the top of a small hill The Diskit Gompa the oldest and second largest Buddhist monetary which gives a beautiful view of the landscape with a mesmerizing view of river and lush green valley’s. There are ample of things to do in Leh Ladakh. It is a place for hiking. Mountain climbing, rafting and trekking which was one of the most common activities that travelers dwell.
When time comes to return back to home it was really not a good feeling. We travelled back with a same mode of transport taking a lifetime memories in mind. The journey was truly amazing.
The local were very tough like the rugged mountains from the outside and also very soft from inside. It was a one of unforgettable moments of my life and I will never forget the time spent in the lap of nature. It was living the expectation vividly. The only problem we faced is with internet services as our phones stopped working.
It was the most difficult thing to get settle in your daily routine after coming back from the most memorable trip of your life. I shared my trip with my peers as it gives me a chance to recall the memories on the trip. As it is famous for the handicrafts, silver, woolens, Tibetan trumpets, and prayer beads and wheels. The memories I collected will last long with me more than these objects.
Without getting motivated we never step forward. We spend so much time stick to technologies and electronic gadgets so we forget to live and to connect with people or sometimes even ourselves. Ladakh’s natural attractiveness-its lakes, monasteries, valleys, museums have a dreamlike quality. It makes you want to just sit back and tune into nature. It actually helps you to think for yourself and for spending time with friends and family while you take a long walks in or enjoying the tea from some yak-butter tea in the breath taking city. As I always wonder about Ladakh and people lifestyle as it is known for its traditions which is influenced by the Tibetan culture. ] We all have our own quirks and preferences when it comes to travelling, some more bizarre than others. No matter what your aim is, Travelling to distant places always tend to fascinate. There are different types of tourist some came for adventure with friends, Or for recreational and some for business purposes. Well, I consider myself as an adventure and leisure tourist as I always seek for adventurous activities that may be dangerous like trekking; rafting, mountain climbing, or mountain biking but on the flip side when it come to rejuvenate and revitalize while enjoying a break from your daily schedule of life or if its about experiencing the local tourist attractions of Leh Ladakh. I would never miss chance if I get an opportunity for my next travel.
To encapsulate all, in my personal opinion one should visit leh ladakh to enjoy the nature as it was the whole thing which relax your mind and soul from all the stress of daily life. Overall it will leave you with an impression that you will never forget.
